The Primary School curriculum develops the whole child through focus on the students’ academic, social, emotional and physical well-being in an environment that celebrates internationalism.

MEFIS-Izmir is authorised to offer the Cambridge International Education (CIE) Primary Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The Cambridge Primary Curriculum is a curriculum for children aged 5-11, and is an excellent preparation for secondary education, in part due to its focus on English, Mathematics and Science.  Other subject areas are studied in a trans-disciplinary manner using the International Primary Curriculum, which correlates with the Cambridge curriculum. Cambridge International Primary Programme progression tests track a child's ability through Primary School, and on completion of Year 6 the children sit a Primary Checkpoint Exam and they receive a Certificate of Achievement.

As well as concentrating on the core subjects, English, Mathematics and Science, the Primary School curriculum emphasizes the importance of all subjects and learning activities including: Social Studies, Performing and Visual Arts, Physical Education, Languages and Home Language studies.  Clubs are also offered during the academic day to tap into the interests and abilities of students in a variety of areas, including sports, arts & crafts, games, computing and mathematics.
